Happy Birthday HOH!: The Sequel

(If you don't know what an HOH is, see yesterday's post.)

Well, here's the bathrobe photo that Blogger tried to block yesterday. And it's even from the back, so I don't know what the Big Threat was. I did find another one, with HOH sitting on the side of the bed wearing his hotel-supplied bathrobe and slippers....but HOH is not quite as...er...shall we say "transparent" as I am. He's quiet, reserved, and a tad on the serious side. Opposites Do Indeed Attract :)

The reason I love this first picture is because it really defines my husband in an important way. First of all, it's taken early in the morning, even though we were on vacation. (I got up to take it, then went back to the place where all normal people spend vacation sunrises...under the down comforter.) My husband has always been an early riser - and if you look in the dictionary under 'steady', you will probably find his name written right there along with 'consistenly reliable'.

Secondly, he's reading his Bible and writing in his journal - something he has done every single day I've known him. He has a regular prayer list he prays through - and I know without a doubt that every day he prays for me and the children.

Mr. Steady .....Mr. Faithful, married to Mrs. Wishy-Washy. You'd think he would've rubbed off on me more. Maybe that will happen in our third decade of marriage.

Here we are, at our second daughter's wedding reception, pretending like we're happy. It's really a happy/sad time for parents. I added this picture because my HOH has handled each of our daughter's courtships, engagements, and weddings so wisely. We have incredible sons-in-law, and that's partly due to how protective and careful their Dad was during the whole, (sometimes painful) process.

Bo makes friends easily. He's not put off by people different than him. This is a guy we met on vacation at Amelia Island. He was just standing outside a pub so HOH struck up a conversation with him. He wasn't super talkative if I remember correctly.

SO Many of the pictures I found of HOH were of him cooking. He really could've been a professional cook. Now that he has the hat...maybe he'll consider it :)

And then again, if the chef thing doesn't work out....there's always race car driving. I'm telling you, the guy is Versatile with a capital V!

If you're super attentive, you may notice that HOH is not in this picture. And I couldn't really even think of a way to try to make this fit in with the whole birthday theme.....But how could I resist showing off my Sweet Adeline and her sleepy little face? (Notice Grandmama's sleepy little face, too....)

Tomorrow the birthday theme continues. My two 16yo's are having a joint pool party complete with palm tree pinatas and tacos and limbo contests. There's also an 80% chance of rain (!)

More later....

I am sure your fun and wild sides have blessed his steady reliability in ways that he may not even be able to articulate.

i have to say that i am NOT happy that you receive MORE comments than i do every day. i should write a post about how much i LOVE comments. or i should have older children who read my blog and comment. or i should post pictures of men in bathrobes... which do you think will help me the most in my comments section deficiency...

Funny, Lea. I've been praying for a miracle re: the rain today. Cute picture of my A. :)
