Pictures of My (unborn as yet) Grandsons

My two married daughters are both pregnant right now, and since they each live about 5-7 hours from me - I'm not seeing them nearly as much as I'd like to (even after many, many, serious, Scripture-laden, meant-to-be-guilt-producing, lectures about the ungodliness and unnaturalness and impracticality and down-right-unfriendliness
of living so far from a loving mother.)

I started this post last night, before receiving a call this morning at 7am that the baby pictured below is trying to "come forth"! This will be my daughter's third birth in as many years, and it will be the first time I haven't gotten in the car and headed towards her house as fast as I could wash and blow dry and curl my hair, put on minimal make-up, mascara, blush, and liner, pack some cute clothes and a few books, and immediately rush to her side.

It does feel weird to sit here at home on a Saturday doing my normal stuff. Chores. Chores. Chores. And then following that up with a few chores, all while she's 300 miles away 100% effaced and laboring. She has home births, so she sounded all cheery and energized when I spoke to her this morning - but from being there the last two times I imagine that's changed a bit by now. She's not a screamer (like her mom)...she's a moaner...and a sweet moaner at that, and I'd sure like to hear her moaning right now (sniff:sniff)

I guess with 11 children, it was bound to happen at some point.

What was the chance of me making it to all 50-60 of my grandchildren's births (I realize that's a lowball number, but I'd rather guess low and then be surprised :) Who knows? We may have another Jim Bob Duggar among our 7 sons.

So, here's a picture of my new grandchild (and his headless mother) the way he looked yesterday, and prayerfully you can check back for a post-utero picture sometime later today!

This next picture is of my third-born daughter, Jacqueline. She's always had a glamorous streak- and pregnancy doesn't seem to have hampered that. Part of the reason I didn't take off this morning and head to Chattanooga to be with Daughter #1
is that I'm leaving in the morning, along with my two younger daughters, to go to Glamour Girl's baby shower in Savannah. Her mother-in-law and 5 sisters-in-law will also be there, so the 10 of us are going to have a Slumber Party Extraordinaire (gosh, I hope nobody tries to freeze my bra!)

Wow, both of your girls are gorgeous...even the headless one. She looks great for being full-term!

I am so excited for what is happening right now!!! I'll be checking back for updates frequently. ;)

They are both stunning. I can only imagine how proud you are of them, and everyone. Put the pics up of the new boy as soon as possible. I am very happy for you. You make it sound like something I should look forward to.

brite already has pictures of thomas on her facebook page. she gave birth and uploaded photos just a few hours afterwards... that is some kind of efficiency... she is a pittman.

Can't wait to see pictures! Yes, they both look amazing.

and hey, 5-7 hours away is definitely better than thousands and thousands of miles away (just helping you look on the bright side...I know, this isn't helping at all :-)

I keep checking back -- and still no pictures of a live grandson! Surely that little fellow is here by now, and any self-respecting, proud grandma should have the pictures posted by now!!! :)
